About Ruckleigh
“A successful and happy school is one which provides an environment where children can realise their full potential.”
Staff at Ruckleigh make it their aim to offer children in their care maximum opportunity to fulfil their potential, in whatever area their strengths may lie.
Founded in 1909, Ruckleigh is a thriving preparatory school, located in a large Edwardian house and set in beautiful grounds in the centre of Solihull, West Midlands.
Taking boys and girls, rising 3 to 11 years of age, the school prides itself on providing continuous education for children from nursery level up to the age of 11, when they move on to secondary education, usually within the area’s wide choice of grammar and independent schools.
The school’s co-educational policy offers the opportunity for brothers and sisters to be educated together for the initial stages of their schooling.
As well as providing girls and boys with the opportunity to learn from each other’s strengths and abilities in a natural way, Ruckleigh places great emphasis on developing and nurturing self esteem, and a sense of personal achievement for each child.
Children at all levels in the school are expected to adopt responsibilities suited to their age. This helps to nurture a spirit of community which crosses the boundaries of year groups and creates an environment where pupils are happy, confident and motivated to do their best in all areas of school life.
