Celebrating the Farmhouse Breakfast

​Today the whole school enjoyed eating breakfast in school! The catering staff provided us with a wonderful selection of food and everyone took the opportunity to taste breakfast favourites and to sample different options too. ​Kindergarten children used this ​opportunity to discuss the what makes food healthy and what makes it unhealthy. It was pleasing to see how much the children knew about healthy eating, the need to have food that provides a slow release of energy and of course the importance of eating the breakfast. We then used the breakfast as an opportunity to build a bar chart in maths and looked at our favourite type of breakfast food. The vegetarian and pork sausages were the overall winner with 9 votes and toast coming in a close second.
